Dedication encompasses integrity, loyalty, and purpose. It is something that gives a human being their strength, confidence, and understanding. When you are fully dedicated, you are fully invested into what is and therefore what could be. There is this duality of being fully in the present while inevitably shaping your future destiny. There is this faithful hope that the future could be full of the reaping of your dedicated time and effort, without you knowing what lies ahead. It is the ultimate act of trust in a sense.

When it is time to begin something new, something you' are only just learning, there is a need for dedication to sustain and see out this potential that will begin to bloom. Without it, the beginnings will fall short of what could be. This is why dedication is worth striving for.

There is a notion by a dear author and person of respect to me that comes to mind when writing this. In his book Man’s Search for Meaning, Viktor E. Frankl speaks on behalf of the human condition for purpose and meaning. He writes,

“Don't aim at success. The more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one's personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one's surrender to a person other than oneself”

(Viktor E. Frankl).

As someone who has strived to ensue with meaning and purpose in her own life, I can graciously say that creating art is one of these very things. Without the dedication and love towards this act however, I would not be where I am today, writing these words to you now.

As an appreciation and ode to the wonderful beginnings in life that we dedicate ourselves to, how better to celebrate then by releasing artwork that has been instrumental to my dedicated adventure as an artist, strengthening my voice as an artist today.

The Dedicated Beginnings Collection is a special collection full of artworks that the artist has made during her time of self discovery as an artist. Her present works have grown from these very foundations and experimental pieces. In celebration of her birth month, Kyanna will be releasing this collection during the month of December only.
